Qatar Visa from Nigeria 2026: New Rules, Requirements & Tour Packages
Qatar Visa from Nigeria 2026: New Rules, Requirements & Tour Packages with Flydestinations
If you are planning to apply for a Qatar visa from Nigeria in 2026, the process is no longer the same as it was before.
From 2025 onward, Qatar immigration officially stopped approving tourist visa applications through the Hayya platform for Nigerian travelers and most African applicants. Many people who previously depended on Hayya experienced delays, confusion, or applications that never moved forward.
The system has now shifted completely.
In 2026, Qatar tourist visas are processed only through accredited agents like Flydestinations, with mandatory hotel booking through Discover Qatar before visa authorisation is issued.
This guide explains the new Qatar visa requirements for Nigerians, the hotel rule, processing steps, and how to secure your Qatar holiday package successfully.
Qatar Visa Update for Nigerians (Effective from 2025 and Still Active in 2026)
The most important change introduced in 2025 is still fully enforced in 2026.
Here is what you need to know:
- Qatar visa applications are no longer approved via Hayya
- Tourist visas must be processed through accredited agents
- Discover Qatar hotel booking is mandatory
- Visa authorisation is issued after hotel confirmation
- Self-application through independent platforms is no longer available
This new structure allows Qatar immigration to properly verify accommodation and visitor intent before approving entry.
For travelers, it means working with an authorised agency is now essential.
Mandatory Discover Qatar Hotel Booking Requirement
This is the most critical part of the Qatar visa application process in 2026.
Before Qatar immigration issues visa authorisation, your agent must book a hotel through the Discover Qatar B2B platform.
The hotel must meet these requirements:
- Minimum of 4-star or 5-star hotel
- Minimum rate of $100 per room per night
- Confirmed booking before visa submission
- Booking must remain valid during visa processing
This requirement applies to all Nigerian tourists, regardless of whether you plan to stay with family or friends.
Discover Qatar booking is directly linked to immigration approval. Without it, the visa will not be authorised.

Qatar Visa Requirements for Nigerians (2026)
Flydestinations requires only three main documents to process your Qatar visa and tour package:
1. International Passport Data Page
Your passport must be valid and clearly scanned.
2. Passport Photograph
Must be recent, clear, and taken on a white background.
3. Confirmed Flight Ticket
Your ticket must show arrival and departure dates from Qatar.
These are the core Qatar visa requirements for Nigerian citizens under the current system.
Why the Hayya Platform Is No Longer Used
Before 2025, Nigerians could apply for Qatar visas through Hayya. However, many travelers faced:
- Long delays without updates
- Technical platform issues
- Rejections without explanation
- Lack of support or guidance
The new accredited agent system introduced from 2025 solved many of these problems by ensuring applications meet immigration standards before submission.
In 2026, this remains the only approved route.
